Biggest Tech Deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard
Microsoft is one of the leading technology companies of the world. Whilst it is always in news due to its innovation and creativity, today it has grabbed the attention of the world because it is just a few steps behind breaking a record. The company is now all set to buy Activision Blizzard. Activision Blizzard is a game company that has ownership of games such as Call of Duty, Warcraft and Overwatch.
This is going to be record breaking as it would be the highest acquisition deal over in technology. It is likely that Microsoft would be sealing a deal of $69 billion. In past, the highest tech deal was made y Dell when it purchased EMC for $67 billion.
Not the first time for Microsoft!
This is not the first time Microsoft is making a huge deal. In past, it had tried to buy Yahoo for about $50 billion in 2008. However, the deal could not be made and Yahoo was sold to Verizon in 2017 for only $4.7 billion!
Satya Nadella, the current CEO and Chairman of Microsoft is very much hopeful of the deal. He claims that such a deal will help the company grow their gaming business by introducing them widely across mobile, PC and other devises and shall also help in metaverse.
This is not the first time Microsoft is having a deal with the gaming company. In 2020 it had bought Bethesda for $7.5 billion.
According to Satya Nadella,
“We’re investing deeply in world-class content, community and the cloud to usher in a new era of gaming that puts players and creators first and makes gaming safe, inclusive and accessible to all.”
